How much money should I send with my wrestler?
Campers will need to provide their own dinner Sunday evening. Campers wanting to purchase merchandise or wrestling equipment should bring money for these items. Please plan ahead and send a limited amount of money with your wrestler to avoid any problems.
What do we do about meals for our camper Sunday evening?
There are many restaurants in the Ann Arbor area. Many parents stay Sunday evening and enjoy dinner with their wrestler. Another suggestion for dinner is to eat in the basement of West Quad which is actually the Michigan Union. In the Union campers will find about four or five different fast food restaurants.
Is there wrestling merchandise available at the camp?
Yes, we have products from Cliff Keen (headgear, kneepads, singlets , etc.) and Michigan Wrestling gear (T-shirts, hats, shorts, etc.). These items will be available all week long including registration and check-out.
Can we get a group discount even if some of our group has already sent in their registration?
No, group discounts will only be granted if all of the applications are received together. It is too difficult on our registration staff if groups aren’t mailed together. Thank you in advance for sending groups together.
Do the campers need a physical?
In most cases, campers have had a physical within the past year for athletics during the school year, and this physical is sufficient.
What if we have a conflict on Sunday, can late check-in be arranged?
Yes, please contact the Camp Administrator to make arrangements for a late check-in. We ask that you call at least a week in advance to make arrangements for late check-in.
What happens if the wrestler becomes ill during camp?
At all wrestling sessions there are medical trainers on-hand to administer immediate medical attention. Also, if your wrestler becomes sick during camp, there are facilities on campus where they can obtain medical attention. If your wrestler becomes ill and has to leave camp early, you will be refunded the prorated amount based on how long the camper was at camp.
What type of payment do you accept?
We accept personal checks and money orders through the mail for deposits. At check-in we also accept personal checks, money orders, and cash. Online registration is also available and a credit card is needed for it.
If the wrestler drives, what happens with their car and car keys?
High School wrestlers are allowed to leave their cars parked at Oosterbaan Fieldhouse. The camp director will keep car keys locked up for the entire week. When the campers are ready to leave, their keys will be returned to them.
Can I attend camp sessions to watch my wrestler compete?
All sessions are open to the parents, coaches and friends of the participating wrestlers. Spectators are welcome to sit matside during both technique and competition sessions, and video cameras are permitted.
